Patch notes for version 0.2315


  • Major Gameplay Changes

    • Shielding: Shielding now lasts until the start of your next turn and no longer breaks on damage. If you have Armored, shielding is not removed at the start of your next turn. I spent too much time tweaking shielding to make it unique, but it's always been unintuitive and never felt right.
    • Removing Cards: Removing a card is now a choice instead of adding a card after surviving a combat encounter. It also no longer adds a Virus card to your deck. In fact, you can choose to remove Viruses this way if you don't want to pay the cost to Uninstall them in combat!
    • Viruses in Play: Viruses now trigger at the end of your turn instead of the start. All viruses also Trash after triggering. If you want to remove the Virus manually, you'll need to spend the Power on the turn you draw it - no more holding the virus until the combat is all but won and removing it that without threat.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Fixed a crash when trying to preview an ability card.
    • Fixed a crash when using the One for All card.
    • Fixed a crash when Recycler was triggering during the first turn of combat.
    • Fixed a rare crash when virus animations finished.
    • Fixed a bug when too many enemies took Bleed damage some of them would start their turns before taking damage and act with 0 HP.
    • Fixed a bug where the game could hang after using an AoE ability targeting one of the edge cells.
    • Fixed an exploit where you could Cancel event modifications during the animation to enhance cards infinite times (whoops).
    • Health Mod upgrades now stack.
  • Camera Zoom

    • Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up: Game Zoom In/Out
    • Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Click: Game Default Zoom
    • W, A, S, D: Camera movement if the full screen isn't shown.
    • Alt + Mouse Wheel: GUI Zoom In/Out
    • Alt + Mouse Wheel Click: GUI Default Zoom
    • If the entire room cannot be seen, the camera will automatically center on the active character, and you can manually move it around by moving the cursor to the edges of the screen.
  • Dialogue

    • Enemy characters can now situationally talk!
    • Events such as starting combat, player deaths, or enemy deaths will sometimes trigger an enemy to say a line to add a bit of flavor to the game.
    • The frequency they occur can be changed in Options. "Always" is primarily used for testing, trust me you'll get sick of it really fast if you use it.
  • GUI

    • You can now view a character's deck of cards when choosing to add a new card.
  • Sound Effects

    • Tons of new sound effects have been added, including impact sounds for all attacks! Too much stuff to add but the game feels a lot better to play with all the new sounds.
  • Keywords

    • Waste: Waste has been removed. It was too unintuitive, and many players confused it with Scrap.
    • Scrap: Is now named Trash. If a card has the keyword Trash, it is temporarily removed from your deck after Activation.
  • Card Balance

    • Charged Shot (Soldier): Damage reduced [5 -> 4]. Trash added. Damage Boost renamed Damage Charge and reworked - Now doubles damage each time the card is drawn, but resets at the end of combat.
      • This will get balanced in the future as right now it's too easy to just sit on a Boss until this card can one-shot him, but it's a fun card so it'll stay broken until I find a fix.
    • Rail Gun (Soldier): Waste removed.
    • Reduce, Reuse (Neutral): Cost reduced [1 -> 0].
    • The Big One (Soldier): Waste removed.
  • Virus Balance

    • Infinite Loop: Add [1 -> 2] temporary copies of this card to your Discard pile.
    • Logic Bomb: Trash a random card in your [Hand -> Deck].
    • Null Worm: Cost Reduced [6 -> 4]. Add 1 Null card to your Draw pile. The number of Null cards increases each time this card triggers.
    • Polymorphic Virus: Temporarily removed.
    • Trojan Horse: Give [1 -> 2] random cards in your [Hand -> Deck] +1 Cost for this combat.
