Patch notes for version 0.524


Finally, the first true content patch. This one adds about a dozen new cards for the Soldier and three new upgrades for him, too. Hopefully you can start to see some of the synergies between cards and upgrades, and how powerful you can become if you get the right setup!

  • [BALANCE] Double Barrel Range increased [3 -> 4], Damage increased [3 -> 4], and Gain reduced [2 -> 1].
  • [BALANCE] Damage Boost Gain reduced [2 -> 1].
  • [BUG FIX] Slow wasn't working on enemies on the turn it was applied.
  • [BUG FIX] Fixed a game hang related to the Thug Mage being unable to heal themselves if their original healing target was killed.
  • [CHARACTER CHANGE] The Soldier's starting cards are now as follows: Move x3, Shields Up x2, Damage Boost x1, Double Barrel x3, Burst Fire x1.
  • [GAME] Temporary cards have been added! These cards are always 0 Cost/0 Gain cards that are deleted after use or when the turn ends.
  • [GAME] Shield Breaks now occur after ANY damage is taken - this means that in a multi-hit attack the first hit breaks the shield, and subsequent hits go straight to HP. The Exhaust and Evasion status effects are much more suitable defenses against multi-hit attacks than Shields are!
  • [GUI] Gaining shield now gives a text popup with "+X Shield" along with the shield graphic.
  • [STATUS EFFECT (NEW)] Fortify - Each stack prevents one shield break.
  • [CARD (NEW)] 2 for 1 Special (Soldier) - Trash a card in your hand and draw 2 cards.
  • [CARD (NEW)] All for One (Soldier) - Steals all allies' Shields.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Bounty Hunt (Soldier) - A cone attack that lets you immediately draw a card for each enemy hit.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Covered Attack (Soldier) - Sniper Attack that can only be used while in cover.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Flashbang (Soldier) - Ranged AoE that applies Slow and Exhaust to those hit.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Fortified Threat (Soldier) - Taunt that grants Shield and Fortify for each enemy taunted.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Headshot (Soldier) - Simple long range attack that ignores shields.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Hitman (Soldier) - High damage attack, but if you don't kill the target it trashes a random card in your hand.
  • [CARD (NEW)] One for All (Soldier) - Splits Shield with all allies.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Rail Gun (Soldier) - An attack that can target any enemy in the room, even through walls.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Reposition (Soldier) - A short range attack that also adds a Dash card to your hand.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Steady Shot (Soldier) - High cost, high damage card that applies +2 Slow to yourself.
  • [CARD (NEW)] Tactical Assault (Soldier) - Short range attack that deals damage equal to the number of cells moved this turn.
  • [CARD (NEW TEMPORARY)] Dash - Move 2 cells.
  • [CARD (REMOVED)] Long Shot removed.
  • [CARD (REWORK)] Enhance Radius is now a Soldier-only card, which means you should see it more often (neutral cards can only be seen at shops right now).
  • [UPGRADE (NEW)] Charge! (Soldier) - Attacks a random enemy within 3 cells after each movement.
  • [UPGRADE (NEW)] Hunker Down (Soldier) - Gain +1 Empower each time you recycle a movement card.
  • [UPGRADE (NEW)] Go Go Go! (Soldier) - Adds a Dash card to your hand at the start of each turn.
